HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Blood Spatter or Why Does This Matter?

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Blood Spatter or Why Does This Matter?

Welcome everyone to the 224th edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this Gat a sweet deal or only have Fudd appeal?  Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

In our last edition, our poll showed that you, the readers, decided the custom Martini-Henry was indeed fudd crap.

HGFC – Khyber Pass or I’ll Bid Last? — Poll Results

At this time the original auction has ended after a 38-bid bidding war.  With a final selling price of $1,251, we congratulate the buyer NotTheAKGuy on purchasing what they’ve deemed a hot gat.

In this week’s edition of HGFC, we look at a custom Seekins NX15 chambered in 6.5 Grendel. As is tradition, this Russian chambered gat is currently up for sale on GunBroker for $2,300 Current Bid with No Reserve.

Let’s see what the Staff had to say about this week’s offering:

“When you’re playing building guns in your parent’s basement with your adult friends, spill some of your Mom’s meatloaf on your build by accident, and just roll with it.” – Adam S.

“A rifle fit for those aspiring to become a loot drop” – Luke C.

“Spill red paint on your custom build?  Chamber it in an expensive and somewhat nonsensical caliber?  No problem, just put it on gunbroker and hope someone else pays for your mistakes” – Rusty S.

“Any machine is a blood machine if you operate it wrong enough.” – Doug E.

“Featuring actual blood from the gunsmith I bludgeoned to death for making this abomination” – James Reeves

Selling this non-standard chambered AR pattern gat is GunBroker seller Prosper Firearms, located in Prosper TX.  Let’s see what they had to say about this custom AR-15 pattern rifle.

HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Blood Spatter or Why Does This Matter?

There was a time when I wasn’t quite sure what 6.5 or other 6mm pattern cartridge was going to catch on.  We of course now know that 6.5 Creedmoor is here to stay, while also forced to accept the fact that everyone and anyone will be trying to reinvent that cartridge.

6.5 Gredel is an interesting cartridge as it’ll fit in AR-15 pattern rifles (unlike 6.5 Creedmoor which requires an AR-10 pattern receiver). It sadly never saw a lot of mainstream use before the Russian import ban went into effect, but I have to say I’d be curious to see how this rifle groups. For $2,300 I’ll take the model without the blood splatter Cerakote.

What do you think?  Is this Seekins NX15 worth it for the price or would you rather have something a little less custom?  As always I leave it up to you, the readers, to decide.
