POTD: Rapid Extraction with US and Swedish Marines

Photo Of The Day and we’re in the archipelago outside Stockholm, Sweden, with US and Swedish marines. Two machine guns on each side of the boat, ready to go live if needed. But take a good look at the weapons and sensors turret on top of the boat, that’s probably where the real magic is hidden.

And, it’s not a boat – it’s nothing less than the Combat Boat 90, coming to a crash stop to extract a team of Marines.

U.S. Marines and Swedish Marines conduct a rapid extraction demonstration during exercise Archipelago Endeavor 23 in Sweden on Sept. 13, 2023. Exercise Archipelago Endeavor is an integrated, Swedish Armed Forces-led exercise that increases operational capability and enhances strategic cooperation between the U.S. Marines and Swedish forces. Below: The Swedish Ak5 (FN FNC) in the hands of a U.S. Marine. How do you think he likes it, compared to their new M27s?  There’s also a U.S. Marine to the left, manning the KSP-58 machine gun (FN MAG).

In the image above you get a good look at the different camouflage patterns.
