At SHOT Show 2024, Arizona-based Show Low Mfg has launched their new Black-Jack 9mm pistol caliber carbine line. The distinctive feature of these new firearms lies in their proprietary detent-delayed blowback action. This design choice provides advantages over conventional blowback systems; notably, it allows the firearm to be lighter than a standard blowback design and offers enhanced accuracy. Despite the uniqueness of the internals, Show Low Mfg has kept familiarity alive with the external controls following AK-pattern controls.
The Black-Jack isn’t confined to proprietary magazines, instead, it conveniently feeds from CZ Scorpion-pattern mags and also ships with Magpul magazines, known for their reliability and durability.
A representative of Show Low confirmed that their current focus is the 9mm model, but an expansion to the Black-Jack lineup could be on the horizon. “We’re looking at 10 mm and .45 ACP, we’re just trying to find a magazine to design around,” said the representative.
The Black-Jack is available in multiple configurations to suit varied user needs. Those seeking a compact firearm can opt for the pistol configuration, available with either 4.5 or 8.5-inch barrels at $1,649 MSRP. The weights for these configurations are 4.5 and 4.94 lb respectively, with an Overall Length (OAL) of 13.5 and 19 inches. For users preferring a traditional rifle setup, the Black-Jack is also available in a 16.1-inch barrel rifle configuration at $1,749 MSRP, with a weight of 6.1 lb and an OAL of 34.25 inches.
With the Black-Jack, Show Low Mfg is offering an innovative mashup of popular firearm designs, opening the doors to new possibilities in the realm of firearm customization and flexibility.
