We continue our journey through the offerings at SHOT Show 2024 and taking a closer look at the things that caught our eye here in Las Vegas, NV.
Inglis GP-35, 9 mm. Okay, we have to admit this is pretty darn cool. While the resurgence in Hi Power-style pistols is so 2021 (ish), the folks at Inglis have got a pretty decent spread lined up for release in 2024. There’s a standard L9A1 reproduction of the Hi Power issued to Commonwealth Forces throughout the latter part of the 20th century, but also two commercial variants—one stainless, one blued. And, the last is this eye-catching GP-35, with color case-hardened finish, Turkish walnut grips, two 15-round magazines and an MSRP of only $649.
Navy Arms FRF2 Sniper Rifle. Interested in military sniper rifles? Don’t want an ordinary M1903 Springfield, PU sniper 91/30 or Lee-Enfield No. 4 (T)? How about a French FRF2, an updated version of the MAS 36 bolt-action rifle chambered in .308 Win. This isn’t just the rifle, though—it comes with a Scrome J8 scope and mount as well as a full-on accessory pack with bipod, two magazines, cheek piece risers, tools, field bag and more. MSRP is $8,995 for a genuine piece of French sniper history.
Trijicon Credo HX 1-10x28mm. We all know how popular low-power variable optics (LPVOs) are these days, with 1-4X and even 1-6X on their way to becoming passé. The new hotness is 1-8X or even 1-10X, which Trijicon has captured in its new Credo HX 1-10x28mm scope. This first-focal-plane scope offers clearly marked turrets offering 100 MOA of adjustment range, an illuminated center reticle, 34 mm main tube diameter and a host of other options designed to make it the one scope that you can use for just about anything. MSRP is $2,150.
Stag Arms Sporter. While the market may be cooling for modern sporting rifles, there’s definitely a place for the next-step rifle. Stag Arms is filling that place with its Sporter rifle for 2024. Wearing Magpul furniture the Sporter also features a nitride bolt-carrier group, mil-spec charging handle and a chrome-moly vanadium barrel with front-sight gas block. MSRP is $899, and this new rifle is expected to be released sometime in Q1 2024.
Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical and 590 Thunder Ranch. It was only a matter of time before Mossberg renewed its commitment to offering a fine fighting shotgun with the blessings of Clint Smith, only this time, Mossberg has twice the shotgun goodness with both a 940 Pro semi-automatic shotgun and a 590 pump-action, both with Thunder Ranch embellishments. Both shotguns have 18.5-inch barrels, Cerakote finish, extended magazine tubes and engraved receivers. MSRP for the 940 Pro Tactical is $1,295 and for the 590 Thunder Ranch is $662.
We’ve got one more day to walk the convention-center floor and find new and interesting guns and gear for tomorrow’s picks. Let’s see what the last day of SHOT Show 2024 brings!
