First Look: PARD Optics TD5 Thermal / Nightvision Scope

PARD Optics is rolling out the new feature-rich but relatively lightweight Dual Spectra Imaging TD5 Thermal / Nightvision scope. The TD5 is an advanced riflescope that has everything but the kitchen sink. The unit features a built-in ballistic calculator, laser range finder, high definition night vision and a thermal imaging detection system with a 384 x 288 pixel sensor. The device also has software that lets it communicate with an iOS or Android device as well as other computers via Wi-Fi, in conjunction with the PARDVision application.

The IPS LCD thermal imaging and night vision can be displayed on the 800×800 IPS LCD display independently from each other or simultaneously with the picture-in-picture (PIP) functionality, providing a clear heat signature and night-vision depth perception. Display options include 6 different reticle styles, 4 different reticle colors and 6 different thermal image modes. Additionally, the integrated CMOS 1920×1080 visible light sensor combines a 50mm lens, 4.5-9x magnification, 6.4 x 3.6 degree field-of-view with visibility down to .001 lux. The unit includes a VCSEL infrared (IR) illuminator that is either available in 850 or 940 nm versions with three different levels of intensity.
