First Look: SIG Sauer P322 Comp Pistol

SIG Sauer has just released a specialized competition variant of its P322 .22LR semi-automatic pistol, the new SIG Sauer P322 Comp. This two-tone polymer framed handgun comes outfitted with a compensator and a SIG Electro-Optics factory-installed reflex (red dot) sight.

“When we brought the P322 to the market, it was hailed for its ingenuity, quality and value. Now the P322 Comp raises the bar on the entire .22 [rimfire caliber] plinking experience,” said Tom Taylor, SIG Sauer’s Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Commercial Sales. “The P322 Comp ships with a factory-installed Romeo Zero Elite red-dot optic for fast target acquisition, is designed with a slide-mounted racker and sport takedown lever as value added fun features, and a barrel-mounted compensator to reduce muzzle rise, making the P322 Comp a fast, fun and flat pistol to plink with.”

The new P322 Comp feeds from 20- or 25-round .22 LR magazines, and it ships with one of each from the factory. Out of the box, it’s ready for a Steel Challenge match or a fun session at the range. Like many larger, competition-focused guns, this gun is outfitted with an ambidextrous slide racker, adjustable trigger shoe, extended magazine catch and a “gas pedal” frame extension for added grip for your left hand. Ignition comes via a single-action-only hammer that is enclosed inside the slide.
