Vortex Optics is releasing a new micro electronic red dot sight, the Vortex Defender-CCW Micro Red Dot. This new slide mounted electronic red dot sight is meant for slimmer width guns like the Glock 43, Smith and Wesson M&P Shield, Springfield Hellcat, Sig Sauer P365 and other, which are becoming increasingly popular as personal carry guns for self defense.
Slide mounted electronic red dots sights have blown up for full size pistols meant for both duty and competition use, so naturally the trend is moving to smaller and slimmer pistols that are easier to carry for personal protection. The new Vortex Defender CCW Dot is ruggedized to withstand the rigors of EDC. The front facing part of the optic is texturized to facilitate the racking of the slide off of any surface. Shooters have two dot size options, a 3 MOA or 6 MOA for target acquisition. This micro red dot makes use of the popular Shield RMS/RMSc footprint, which is one of the most common for smaller pistols today.
