Demko Knives Adds Slim Model to International Collection

Demko Knives just debuted its latest project, the AD20I Slim. This one sees the shop partnering with some familiar international friends to create a lighter, more nimble version of their flagship mid-tech.

As Demko Knives says themselves, the I in AD20I Slim stands for “International.” That’s because the creation of this particular folder, as it was on the first, non-Slim AD20I, is a three step process involving two international capitals of knife making. The parts are sourced from Taiwan, the blades are milled in Maniago, Italy, and then each one is assembled and sharpened by hand in the Pennsylvania-based Demko Knives shop.

Now onto the specs. The overall dimensions have not changed much. We see the same 3.6-inch drop point blade as the first International model, albeit this time with an updated MagnaCut blade instead of M390. The latter is a very fine steel to be sure, but MagnaCut has dominated the steel conversation for a couple years, and Demko Knives has been working with it for some time now, so it’s no surprise to see it here again.

The profile remains much the same too, although it has been tweaked to be, well, slimmer, with a more compact overall footprint relative to the chunkier predecessor; Demko Knives says the thicknesses are in line with the full custom Slim models. There’s still the same bracketed, finger groove’d profile, and of course the Shark Lock is situated right where you’d expect it. The scales are made from G-10, available in four different patterns of DigiCam.

The AD20I Slim is available now.
