First Look: Faxon ADJ Gas Block
Faxon Firearms has just introduced a new adjustable, low-profile gas block meant for direct-gas-impingement AR-15-pattern firearms. Faxon’s new design stands out with a uniquely positioned gas-adjustment screw and a mechanism that prevents both fouling and seizing from carbon residue by maintaining some space between the screw and the gas port itself. This system is meant to make life easier for shooters of both suppressed and unsuppressed firearms. To fine-tune the adjustment, the new Faxon adjustable gas block offers 14 different tactile and detent settings, from fully open to fully closed. The Faxon Adjustable Gas Block allows shooters to fine-tune gas flow to achieve optimal cycling, reduced recoil and enhanced reliability.
In a nutshell, gas blocks are one of the most crucial connecting points between a rifle’s barrel and its action since the block can modulate and regulate the flow of gas that is vented back into the receiver via the gas tube to cycle the action. Nowadays, with all the different types of rifle loads and suppressors that shooters are fielding, many are leaning on adjustable gas blocks in order to tune their specific rifle for the ideal volume of gas that’s necessary to cycle their builds. Adjustable gas blocks can be as simple as relying on a sole setscrew to open or close the port, or in the case of the new Faxon model, it can incorporate a more elaborate solution with different clickable adjustable settings and its anti-fouling design.
The new adjustable low profile gas block from Faxon Firearms has a standard retail price of $80. To learn more about it, other parts, accessories or firearms offered by Faxon Firearms, please visit the company’s website at faxonfirearms.com.
