Inbound Jack Wolf Collab is a Fixed Blade from Melissa Backwoods Miller

The Jack Wolf Knives train has once again pulled into Collaboration Station for a new fixed blade member of their J.W. Kollab series. The Fixedc is a user-first fixed blade designed by outdoorswoman, Naked and Afraid competitor, and media personality Melissa “Backwoods” Miller.

Jack Wolf is a shop focused on pieces that can be carried and used on a daily basis, whether that piece be a locking folder, a modern slipjoint, or a good ol’ fashioned (and by “ol’ fashioned” we mean “rendered in thoroughly current materials”) fixie. When it releases later this month, the Fixedc will not be the first fixed blade in the Jack Wolf lineup, but it will help to bolster a narrow segment of the company’s catalog.

The sheath has a pocket clip attached

The core of the experience is the 2.98-inch blade, an outdoorsy, almost Bowie-esque clip point. As with many renditions of the form, it’s useful geometries all the way down, from the upswept tip to the micro-belly drop, to the straight edge running toward the base of the blade. Jack Wolf has once again turned to S90V for the blade steel, the company standard and a formula renowned for delivering enthusiast-grade edge retention – not to mention a hefty resistance to rust for anybody taking this thing into the backwoods.

As we would expect from something design by an outdoors survival expert, the Fixedc’s handle is dead simple – it’s a washboard shape that doesn’t try anything fancy, merely gets out of the way and lets the blade do the talking. And, as befits something designated for everyday carry, the Fixedc’s leather sheath comes with a pocket clip – making the 2.1 oz. knife an effortless carry.

This one is going live on December 12.
