First Look: AGM Global Vision Thermal Monoculars
AGM Global Vision has just announced the launch of the company’s latest compact thermal monocular product line. The AGM Seeker line consists of upgrades and improvements over AGM’s previous monocular, the Taipan series. While the new Seekers have a laundry list of upgraded specifications and details, the most significant changes revolve around the transition from fixed battery to a removable 18650 battery, a new and improved 12 micron sub-20MK thermal sensor, an upgraded user interface and menu, a new 90-degree tilt sensor and a built-in audio recording feature.
AGM Seeker thermal monoculars still maintain a similar compact footprint that is well-regarded by users of the older Taipan series. Another improvement found in the Seeker series is the addition of an oversize eyepiece that makes it more comfortable to see through and puts less strain on the users’ eyes over extended periods of time. The Seeker also comes packed with numerous software improvements and many features that have become commonplace within the AGM thermal product assortment: F1.0 aperture optics, 50Hz refresh rate, 16GB of built-in memory, Wi-Fi compatibility to pair with the AGM Connect app, an IP67 waterproof rating, USB Type-C port for external power capabilities and four viewing color palettes. They also use a wider rubber eyepiece to make viewing the 1024 OLED display extremely comfortable in the field when viewing for long periods of time in a single session.
‘AGM has three different base models in the Seeker lineup:
- 15mm lens with a fixed focus and 1.5X base magnification
- 19mm lens with manual focus and 2X base magnification
- 25mm lens with manual focus and 2.5X base magnification
Multiple color palettes, AGM Connect App compatibility, 8X digital zoom, and large responsive buttons help ensure that the Seeker monoculars are a great addition to any outdoor enthusiasts, law enforcement officers, search & rescue team members or general outdoorsman’s gear bag.
