First Look: Aves Hardshell Shotgun Case
Aves Advanced Waterfowl Gear has just started selling a new and somewhat unique hardshell shotgun case that is capable of folding in half to stow away and is also designed to float. The “hardshell” in this application refers to the modern materials that are found in extreme weather outdoor garments, which means that the new Aves Hybrid Hardshell Floating Shotgun Case is still consided to be a soft case. It’s not made from stiff polymer or other rigid materials. With that said, this new case from Aves Advanced Waterfowl Gear combines both hardshell and softshell elements to strategically protect cased shotguns from the elements, water and impacts while still offering more flexibility than a traditional hard-sided shotgun case.
The Aves Hybrid Hardshell Floating Shotgun Case’s outermost layer is built from 900 denier double PU coated water-resistant fabric. It also uses strategically placed 5mm thermoformed EVA hard panels to cover most of the critical parts of where a cased shotgun would sit when placed inside the Hybrid Hardshell Floating Case. These EVA panels are also placed with gaps in between them to make the entire case more flexible as well, so rigidity is minimal.
