First Look: Dead Air Lazarus 6 Suppressor
Dead Air has recently begun shipping the new Lazarus 6 suppressor, a hard use device that’s rated for high volume shooting through both 5.56 NATO and 6mm ARC rifle cartridges. The Lazarus 6 also employs Dead Air’s patent pending Triskelion gas management baffle system which reduces back pressure and unwanted gas to the shooter’s face.
Mike Smith, Principal Engineer of the Lazarus 6, emphasized, “The objective with the Lazarus was to engineer a 5.56/6mm silencer capable of withstanding the rigors of hard use while delivering optimal acoustic and back pressure performance. The innovative Triskelion system not only minimizes back pressure but also ensures a clean, quiet shooting experience, significantly reducing wear on the firearm.”
The Dead Air Lazarus 6 also incorporates some of the latest techniques used in additive manufacturing (3-D printing) and material science. The entire unit is built around a complex geometry that not only provides structural support that bolsters strength to weight ratio, but also provides the efficient regulation of gasses as they flow through the silencer. The Dead Air Lazarus 6 also freely incorporates the use of Haynes 282, an advanced alloy that is similar to Inconel. On the user side, the Lazarus 6 is fully HUB compatible making it easy to mount with a variety of industry standard mounting systems such as Dead Air’s own KeyMo, Xeno or direct thread options.
