First Look: XS Minimalist Sights For The Colt Python

XS Sights Minimalist night sights are now available for Colt Python revolvers. As the name implies, Minimalist sights are designed for shooters who want a simple yet effective notch-and-post sight without any extra frills.

Minimalist iron sights are designed to be simple. The blacked-out rear sight reduces focus points for your eyes and has serrations to eliminate glare from bright backlighting. The reduced illumination on the back of the slide drives your focus downrange, towards the front sight. Also, when paired with a red dot, the non-tritium rear sight increases focus on the reticle versus a two-dot tritium rear sight. The lower 1/3 co-witness of the sight also minimizes the amount of space the front sight takes up in the optic’s window. In low light, two glowing tritium lamps can be distracting from the primary optic’s illuminated reticle.

The rear notch width is 15 percent wider than the front post to increase visible light around the front edges, giving you a more precise alignment. This minimalist design provides a fast line of sight to the front sight, helping you get rounds on target quickly and accurately. The Minimalist front sight features a tritium center surrounded by a glow dot that comes in two color options, either green or orange, to best suit individual preference.

“The serrations in the rear of our Minimalist sights drive focus downrange,” said Jeff King, Marketing Manager, XS Sights. “With our bright front sight, upgrading factory sights with XS sights makes these revolvers all the more effective by driving your eye to the target for faster acquisition and improved accuracy.”

MSRP for the XS Minimalist sights for the Colt Python is $137.99, and more information on this product as well as other aftermarket sights made by XS Sights is available at xssights.com.
